ADT Fire & Security plc (a Johnson Controls company) is a long-established UK security firm, founded in 1874, providing intruder alarms, fire detection, CCTV/video surveillance and access control to both residential and commercial customers. It operates a direct, own-install model with around 4,000 engineers handling professional installation and all-inclusive maintenance. Alarms are monitored from ADT's UK Alarm Receiving Centre (NSI Gold accredited ARC) on a 24/7/365 basis, with confirmed activations coordinated for keyholder, private security or police response (URN-based, now ECHO-connected). It also performs RVRC monitoring of detector-activated CCTV. ADT claims a 42-second average response time.
