Kanden SOS (関電SOS) is the home/commercial security alarm-monitoring brand of OPTAGE Corporation, the telecom arm of the Kansai Electric Power group in Japan. Founded 20 September 2001 as Kanden Security of Society, Inc. (jointly by Kansai Electric, Toyo Tec and Nippon Panayuse) and absorbed into OPTAGE by 2023, it sells and monitors in-house via subscription. Intrusion, fire, gas-leak and emergency sensors send signals to a 24/7 monitoring centre; professional guards are then dispatched (physical response through partner Toyo Tec) and police/fire contacted as needed. It serves homes, condominiums, rental apartments and small offices/stores, and offers a cloud camera service for remote viewing. Service area is the six Kansai prefectures (Shiga, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, Nara, Wakayama). Positioned as a lower-cost alternative to SECOM/ALSOK.
