Spyke Security, part of the Schot Groep, operates a 24/7 video-led monitoring centre (videotoezichtcentrale) in Alkmaar, Netherlands. It provides remote camera surveillance, alarm monitoring, electronic access control, intercom answering (remote receptionist), malfunction notification, parking/ANPR licence-plate recognition and GPS track-and-trace, mainly for commercial clients, business parks and industrial estates rather than residential. Operators perform live video verification of alarms and pre-agreed interventions, and can address visitors remotely via intercom. The Schot Groep launched what it describes as the first camera monitoring centre in the Netherlands in 2005. The centre is certified to NEN EN 50518, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001, and is described as Kiwa-certified.
